Elsa doesn't need a love story... (MK-13)

 Hi there!!!

I have come across something which I didn't like about Elsa (from Frozen). I'm not saying I don't like her, I mean that there are rumors about her on the internet that she is asexual or lesbian. I was like WHAT!! how can it be possible??

I'm not against this(to be asexual or lesbian) but,

I didn't like the way they say assumed her as asexual just because she doesn't have a boyfriend or a type of love story, just like Anna. Is it important that a girl should have a boy in her life in Disney films, the way all of the Disney princesses have??

I don't think so...neither in real life too...You don't need anybody until you are capable of achieving what you want...

There are other Disney princesses who don't have any boyfriend or something like Merida is there, Moana is there and so do Elsa... Not having a prince in her life or a boy doesn't mean that she becomes asexual or something... You can also say that Merida and Moana are too asexual or lesbian just like Elsa.

I was so much hurt by this that I was just thinking about this all the time and feeling different whenever I see Elsa... I connect Elsa to myself so much as I find many things about her just like me that's why I was so hurt even if I know she is just an animated character, not a real person but I have never felt like that... They(Anna and Elsa) feel real to me like a family...I love all of them(Frozen characters)...

In the interview at the world premiere of Frozen II,

Idina Menzel (voice of Elsa) and others involved in its making was asked too that Whether Elsa should have a girlfriend?? And Idina and Kristen Anderson-Lopez's(songwriter for Frozen both) reply was the best...

Idina said, "Elsa doesn't focus on romantic love that is what we love about the entire franchise and it focuses on self-love and our love between the two sisters"

And Kristen said, "Elsa doesn't define herself by a romantic relationship and I too don't define myself through a romantic relationship. Elsa is figuring out why she has the powers and where she belongs and she has got the weight of her kingdom on her shoulders"

Also, Jonathan Groff's (voice of Kristoff) reply was too good, "The love that Elsa, unlike every other princess, is not defined by any kind of a romantic relationship, she's just like an independent woman"

When all of these people who know Elsa more than we know are saying this then what is the conflict all about...

Elsa doesn't focus on romantic love, she is a self-empowered woman, an independent woman and she will do anything to keep her family safe... Her sister Anna is a too, very strong and courageous person... as said in the movie too when Anna was saying to Elsa that she is not going alone and Elsa said to her that she has her powers to protect herself but she doesn't...Anna in her response said, "Excuse me, I climbed the North mountain, survived the frozen heart, and saved you from my ex-boyfriend and I did it all without my powers so you know I'm coming with you...

It was a kind of funny scene, actually not funny, smiling for me...don't know what was yours?

You can watch it too...here's the youtube link

I have also seen on youtube and on the internet connecting Elsa with Jack Frost...

I hate this thing...That they are boyfriend and girlfriend...I hate Jack Frost's story with Elsa...

ELSA DOESN'T NEED A LOVE STORY AT ALL...

There's so much to explore that who Elsa is, her magical powers, her sister's bonding, her family history, and many more things- are all very interesting to explore...

I don't understand why people can't digest that a woman now no longer needs a man to follow her dreams, to achieve something, and to fight the world... Just like Elsa, Moana, and Merida did, who found their way on their own... Moana set on an adventure to an unknown world across the ocean to restore the heart of Te-feti and save her island just like Elsa. And so do Merida...

I love Elsa... not only her, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven also... Frozen would be incomplete without all of them...

Also, Honeymarren in Frozen II was assumed to be Elsa's girlfriend.... I was like SERIOUSLY!!! Are you kidding??

Honeymarren was just one of Northuldran whom Elsa found as a friend...she might have felt her like a family as we know that Elsa's mother, Queen Iduna was Northuldran, she was from the enchanted forest where Elsa met Northuldra when they (Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven) were looking for that strange voice...

Honeymarren is just like her sister or one can say her friend...

Jennifer Lee, the director of the Frozen film series, too said that the core of the story was always about two sisters, and romance just wasn't where they were with Elsa as they wrote the sequel."We couldn't change that from the outside because it wouldn't be authentic," Lee said. "So we didn't build Elsa a romantic storyline. We weren't making a statement about it, we were just building from where she is now and felt like we needed to stay true."

The first Frozen film was a subversion of Disney's previously typical "girl falls in love with a prince and gets married and lives happily ever after". Anna's prince charming, Prince Hans, wound up being the villain and "the act of true love" which would thaw the frozen heart of Anna to save her life was saving her sister Elsa from getting killed by Hans.

That's why I love Frozen... it focuses more on family love, sisters love other than those romantic loves... Yes, it's also true that Anna falls in love with Kristoff at the end of the first movie but the truth is that the movie focuses more on Anna and Elsa than Anna and Kristoff.

I have a lot to say but less time to express... So, will write another blog for something special...
